In July 2017, I published a list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It’s not terrible, but I don’t exactly agree with it anymore. Plus, a list of a 1,000 songs offers much more variety and leaves me feeling better about not excluding a ton of great music. In this list, you’ll find foundational songs for just about every genre spanning nearly the last 100 years.
